Itajime shibori typically involves concertina folding and clamping fabric to create kaleidoscopic patterns but I prefer injecting the dyes directly into the silk parcels, as this makes for a more interesting result.
The process involves a type of Shibori concertina folding called “Kikko”, with the silk being pressed into equilateral triangles.
Half the fun is blending your colours and choosing where to inject them.
